Portable Art Kit: A Stamped Pouch Tutorial – And Giveaway!

I know it's hard to notice one – 2 hour stretches to yourself, but ofttimes you spend time waiting at the md's role, at your girl'south dance class, or in between meetings. That could all be art fourth dimension.

Feed Your Inner Artist: Make Art a Daily Practise

On a recent trip to my local business organization supply store, I was thrilled to detect a large number of canvas zipper pouches on auction for but .25 cents each! I am always on the hunt for zipper pouches because they make slap-up portable art kits.

I have a few different fine art pouches for different purposes, and I carry different ones depending on my mood or my travels. They brand great gifts likewise. (I'd like to requite You lot ane, and so comment at the end for your chance to win!)

These canvas pouches were perfect opportunity to try stamping on textile. I've been looking for an alibi for some time – I'd honey to practise tea towels, shirts, anything applied that could become much more than personal, cocked, and cute.

Making a Stamped Fine art Pouch

one. Cut your own postage stamp.

If y'all have never done this before, please don't skip this step! Making your own stamp is like shooting fish in a barrel and affordable. Whether you are using a Speedball Postage Making Kit, or cutting foam into shapes and pasting them on woods or plastic canteen caps, you'll find that creating your own stamps adds a whole new level of fun, originality, and expressiveness to your art making. 2. Paint a Base Coat of Gesso

I skipped this stride because I liked how the canvas had a natural look to it. Even so, if you want a white background, or if y'all want to exist sure that your colors will non change in whatsoever style, employ a glaze of gesso earlier you paint, and let it dry thoroughly. You tin can meet the change in the minty color I used on the pouches.
